Marina del Faro was founded in 1968 – at the beginning of the boating nautical boating, when from Trieste down there were only a few, though emblazoned, nautical clubs and only a couple of Navies – by a group of friends and regatta mates more inclined to the development of sailing and to entrepreneurship. Marina del Faro soon became a point of reference for the entire upper Adriatic: in its womb was born and took shape a shipyard that began the mass production of Armagnac and Cognac (Harlè projects) – all exclusively in wooden barrels – was born and took shape in its “womb”, leading then to the construction of a yacht designed by Sciarelli. The nautical club founded there (Faro Piave Sailing Club) distinguished itself in the world of regattas, organizing high level sporting events including an Italian FD championship. Also active was a FIV sailing school that helped to put the bar in the hands of many children and adults. Currently the Marina, in addition to the usual services offered by the Tourist Ports, such as moorings, haulage, various, storage, etc., offers a complete range of assistance services ranging from the simplest maintenance to the most sophisticated repairs and is particularly specialized in restoration of classic and vintage wooden boats.
